Als Stilllegung (engl. Retirement) bezeichnet man die unwiderrufliche Kennzeichnung eines Zertifikats bzw. Klimaleistung als nicht mehr handelbar. Erst mit der Stilllegung kann ein Zertifikat als "klimawirksam" geltend gemacht werden.
